Wyandra Heritage Trail
Discovered by and Explorer named Edmund Kennedy in 1847 on his travels,
setting up camp not far from the magnificent Warrego River of which the
locals call an area 'The Beach'. With the town being built on the banks of
the Warrego and the railway link to Charleville being completed in 1897
connecting with Cunnamulla saw great prosperity for the town. Electricity
was established in the town in 1970 which is the result of the now Power
House Museum.
The Heritage trail is a tribute to the early settlement and development of
the once prosperous railway settlement.
It can be obtained from the Wyandra, Charleville Cosmos Centre and the
Cunnamulla Fella Information Centre.
Upon your visit be sure to visit the local General Store and Post Office,
Gladstone Pub, Powerhouse Museum and have a picnic at the 'Beach'.
